Portal Gun Station suggestion.
Currently, if you're in multiplayer and you activate a portal gun to fire via clicking on it directly or flipping a switch that connects to it, then it shoots out a portal from the pair that the player that activated it has (because each player in a server has their own unique pair of portals).
What happens if wires would activate it from a source other than a player (such as pressure plates or sensors)? Well the answer is absolutely nothing! It doesn't fire any portals…
My suggestion is that the portal gun station (and this could be applied to single player as well) should have its own specific set of portals to use when it receives a signal where it can't determine which player triggered it. In multiplayer, this would add basic functionality to the station so that complicated wire contraptions that work in single player aren't completely and utterly broken in multiplayer. In both single player and multiplayer, this could add new possibilities for wiring contraptions and making puzzles in adventure maps, because it would allow for using 2 sets of portals with just one player.
